From the classroom to the airwaves: why every school should have a media and podcast studio

A Grade 6 learner interviews a grandparent about heritage. A school news team puts together its weekly update. A small studio gives learners a reason to speak up, write for a listener and work as a team.

We believe every school, whatever its size or location, should have creative tools that help learners speak up, create, collaborate and explore. That is where our media and podcast studios come in.

What is a school podcast studio?

A podcast or media studio is a dedicated space, or even a corner of a classroom, where learners record and produce their own content, from interviews and audio stories to stop-motion animations and short videos.

We supply and set up:

  • Quality microphones, mixers and headphones
  • Compact animation booths for storytelling and subject projects
  • Camera and lighting set-ups for video segments and learner-led reporting
  • Set-up at your school, and training for your staff

All of it is designed to be simple and ready for real classrooms, even if you have never used a microphone before.

Why it matters

A podcast studio is more than a nice extra. It is a learning tool. This is what changes when schools bring in creative media tools.

1. Learners find their voice

Podcasting gives quiet learners a safe space to speak. It builds confidence, clarity and ownership, and real language skills along the way.

2. Cross-curricular links happen

Podcasting and video link well to literacy, Life Orientation, history, science and even maths. A lesson can become a debate, a news segment or a storytelling series.

3. Teamwork grows naturally

Learners work together on scripts, audio editing, sound design and hosting, and practise communication, empathy and creative thinking in every episode.

Built for schools, not studios

Schools are short of space, money and time, so our media kits are:

  • Compact and flexible: they fit in a classroom, lab or library corner.
  • Teacher-ready: we set them up at your school and train your staff.
  • Easy to grow: start small, and add more as confidence builds.

Every studio needs a quiet room. In a room with hard walls and a bare ceiling, the microphone records the echo along with the voice. Felt panels on the walls and clouds on the ceiling soak up much of it: see how we calm a noisy room.

Every learner has a story to tell

Start with a recording corner or build a full media room: we plan it with you. See what goes into our media and podcast studios.
