Send it as a purchase order →Mai-Z is a robot mouse from 2Simple, built by Kitronik for the BBC micro:bit, that learners code from Grade R to Grade 7. They plan a route, give it instructions and watch it follow them, then find and fix what went wrong. Floor tiles turn the classroom into a little town to drive through.
Sensors underneath follow the track on the line-following poster.
A distance sensor spots what is ahead, and edge sensors notice the end of the table.
Four colour lights and a speaker that learners code to flash and play sounds.
A pen fits in the middle, so a route becomes a drawing on paper.
A scoop at the front pushes a table tennis ball, for a game of robot football.
Screen-free blocks, 2Code in Purple Mash, then MakeCode blocks or Python on the micro:bit.
36 floor tiles of roads, corners and places to drive to, in every Class and Group Set.
Up to an hour on charge, then more than six hours of lessons, depending on use.
For Grade R to Grade 7, in the coding and robotics strands of the Coding and Robotics CAPS. Schools with Purple Mash also get units of work, lesson plans and slideshows for each grade.

Add what you need and we'll put together a quote for your school.
Open “What's in it” on any set to see the contents. Each robot runs on a micro:bit V2, which you add separately.
Floor tiles only: there are no robots in this set. It adds to a Class or Group Set.
It needs a Mai-Z robot, which runs on a micro:bit V2. Both are sold separately.
